Marissa Nerenburg

Marissa serves as a Lead Clinical Assistant at Amend Treatment, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to integrate DBT, CBT, and somatic approaches into residential care. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University.

From supporting neurodivergent children at the Child Mind Institute, to providing crisis intervention and group facilitation in acute inpatient units, Marissa is driven by genuine human connection and an innate curiosity about people. She believes deeply in seeing potential in clients even when they struggle to see it in themselves, and approaches her work with empathy, calm presence, and a dialectical stance. Her ability to stay grounded under pressure, honed through real-world crisis situations, allows her to be a steady, empowering presence for clients navigating their most vulnerable moments.

Outside of work Marissa loves to go on hikes, thrift with friends, and collect vinyls for her ever growing collection. She’s a Philly girl at heart so be sure to ask her about her favorite cheesesteak (she will most certainly give her two sense!)
