John McNeilly
Overnight Program Coordinator
John McNeilly holds a B.A. in U.S. History from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and completed graduate research at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He spent many years as a communications and public relations professional with notable organizations such as The Washington Post and the Discovery Channel. Additionally, he worked as a freelance journalist and editor, covering restaurants, food trends, music, and the Virginia wine, brewing, and distillery industries for various newspapers and magazines throughout northern Virginia. In 2023, he relocated to California.
Driven by a passion for mental health and addiction recovery, John joined Amend Treatment. He has advanced through progressively responsible positions and currently serves as Amend's Overnight Program Coordinator. Emphasizing transparent, compassionate communication and listening skills, John ensures a safe, supportive, and quiet atmosphere for Amend clients. He is also pursuing his Drug & Alcohol Addiction Counseling certification.
In his free time, John enjoys reading, hiking, and riding his motorcycle through the backroads of Malibu and along the Pacific Coast Highway.
