Amanda’s passion for mental health began at Pasadena City College, where she earned two associate degrees in psychology, followed by a bachelor’s in psychology from California State University Northridge. While completing her undergraduate studies, she gained clinical experience working with children and adolescents with a range of psychiatric and developmental challenges, including autism, ADHD, and ODD.
Driven to support couples and families, Amanda earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant University. During her graduate training, she worked in community mental health settings with adults facing intellectual, developmental, and mood-related disabilities, honing her skills in providing compassionate, individualized care.
Amanda’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients are met with empathy and unconditional positive regard. She encourages clients to take an active role in their healing, incorporating evidence-based strategies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy interpersonal functioning.
Amanda specializes in supporting young adults navigating self-esteem and relational challenges. She believes that through authentic connection and genuinely supportive therapy, clients can explore their identity, build self-acceptance, and cultivate self-compassion. Her warm, encouraging, and occasionally humorous style helps clients feel empowered and supported throughout their journey.
