Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr. Daniel Hai is a clinical neuropsychologist and founder of Neuro Assessment Center in Los Angeles. He has more than 10 years of experience providing psychological and neuropsychological assessment, with particular expertise in complex clinical presentations where cognitive, emotional, developmental, personality, behavioral, and medical factors may overlap.
A significant part of Dr. Hai’s clinical work has involved assessment within residential treatment settings, where clients often present with multiple diagnoses, complicated treatment histories, and symptoms that may have several possible explanations. His approach emphasizes careful differential diagnosis and the integration of cognitive, psychological, developmental, medical, and contextual information to develop a clearer understanding of the whole person.
Dr. Hai believes that psychological and neuropsychological assessment should extend beyond diagnostic labeling. His evaluations are individualized to the clinical question and designed to clarify how different aspects of functioning interact, what those patterns mean in daily life, and how findings can be translated into practical recommendations for treatment. His areas of clinical focus include attention and executive functioning, ADHD and autism spectrum differentials, trauma-related conditions, mood and personality functioning, learning differences, memory concerns, and cognitive changes associated with medical or neurological conditions.
His assessment experience has also included fitness-for-duty, disability, academic and testing accommodations, conservatorship, and professional competency evaluations. He has conducted high-stakes professional evaluations involving physicians, surgeons, clergy, and other licensed professionals. This work has further shaped his emphasis on diagnostic precision, functional capacity, and the real-world implications of psychological and neuropsychological findings.
Dr. Hai earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and completed postdoctoral training in neuropsychology through Fielding Graduate University. He is a California licensed psychologist and a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
